November 17 wanted a chance to have a little fun and thought Maximilian's would be good. Bavarian restaurant, tall cold beer and food, what could be better?

The beer, again, wonderful. The unfiltered Bavarian is a good choice.

And then, the meal. Wanted a Filet Mignon, my favorite. I like mine rare, it is my FAVORITE way to have a steak, keeps the taste inside and is not cooked out. Received the plate and while it was cooked, briefly, it was still cold to the touch inside. When I am asked how I want my steak I often say, "still kicking." This is a metaphor from America and is a common way to say rare. Well, this steak came with the hoofs and the collar still attached. I would think they would be able to determine what a steak cooked rare would be. I guess not.

Well, moving on, the steak was okay, tolerable and the tall Bavarian suds made this better. So, in the menu if you are in the restaurant from 11:00 - 16:00 you receive an automatic discount of 30%. WONDERFUL, it was a nice surprise and the offer was well received. As you can PROBABLY guess, this is not ENTIRELY true. I left the restaurant at 16:10, had ordered nothing since about 15:00 a slow beer was good. So sat and enjoyed. Received the receipt and went to pay. Asked about the 30% discount that was promised and was told it ended at 16:00. Okay, ordered nothing WELL before this time. And, the discount was denied and I was not informed of this policy.

Since the beer was gone, since the under cooked steak was consumed, I had nothing left to enjoy. The GOOD taste from all before was replaced by a BAD taste in the mouth and this was NOT a good thing. Thankfully the taxi driver was a fun sort of guy.

Management, please understand that future visits are dependent on past experiences. And THIS experience was less than palatable and not the time I had planned. MAY need to consider other venues if this is the standard.
